If the figures in this report are to be believed, then this is a very disturbing situation for young people to be in.
Very often, young people won’t seek help because they are either too afraid, or they don’t think they will be believed. That is why when they do come forward, we must do all we can to help and support them.
This cannot happen if there aren’t the beds or facilities to offer them. I know it mentions the government spending on mental health services for the young, but for some reason, this money is not getting through.
They need to speed up the process so that local services can get access to it.
As a person who has had mental health issues since the age of 7 years old, I know how important early intervention can be.
