Is social media affecting your children’s mental health? Plymouth experts have their say | Plymouth Herald

Experts in Plymouth, UK have been discussing the impact that social media is having on the mental health of young people. They have been asking leading teachers and other children professionals to get a better idea of the problems young people are facing.

The areas that are causing the most concern are media images of young women and the negative comments that people make.

I think the big problems are bullying on Facebook, Twitter etc. and the negative impact that can have on kids. It is far more difficult that before social media. Now, bullies can attack their victims 24 hours a day and cause untold damage.

More needs to be done to not only stop cyber bullying, but also to name and shame those who are committing these  cowardly acts.
